There are 3 Billion Android Devices Worldwide
Google announced many updates for its various products at the Google I / O event last night, including Android 12. In the same event, they revealed that there are currently three billion active Android devices worldwide.

This achievement was announced by VP of Product Management of Google Sameer Samat in one of the keynote speeches at Google I / O. With these latest statistics, Google has added 500 million new active Android devices since 2019, and one billion devices since 2017.
Google counts the number of active devices from the Google Play Store. This means that Android devices that use other application stores such as Amazon Fire tablets and Android devices sold in China are not counted, as quoted from The Verge, Wednesday (19/5/2021).
This means the number of active Android devices worldwide is much higher than what Samat announced on the Google I / O live stream. In comparison, currently Google Play Services, which allows Android devices to access Google services, has been installed more than 10 billion times.
Through this announcement, Google has further strengthened its dominance over Apple. Earlier this year, Apple announced that there were one billion active iPhones worldwide, only a third of the number of Android devices.
Google first released Android in 2008. This operating system is now used not only on cellphones and tablets, but also smartwatches, TVs, game consoles, and a range of other smart devices.
The latest version is Android 12 which brings many new features and a fresh look. Apart from new animations, widgets and lock screens, the operating system can also change the color theme used by simply changing the wallpaper.
Google also changed notifications and quick settings that could control the entire operating system with a single tap. The privacy and security side of Android is also enhanced with an indicator that will light up when an application accesses the phone's camera and microphone.
